Biography

Rhiannon Kuchel is an electron microscopist at the University of New South Wales, (Sydney). With a PhD from Macquarie University her thesis focused on the effects of environmental stress on the immune system of temperate pearl oysters. Rhiannon’s role at the EMU is to conduct collaborative research as well as teach postgraduate students from a variety of disciplines (biology, chemistry, materials science/engineering), focusing on the use of transmission (both standard imaging and cryo) and scanning electron microscopy.
