Since its inception in 2015, the Transgenic Animal Unit (TAU) has provided new opportunities and excellence in animal models to researchers at UNSW and external partners.

The Unit is fully operational and currently delivers various services to UNSW researchers. Services include fusion chimeras, pronuclear injection of zygotes (plasmids and BAC transgenesis), targeted transgenesis (ES cells injection of blastocysts and nucleases injection in oocytes), In-Vitro Fertilization, cryopreservation, rederivation, and genotyping. We also provide expert advice on design and realization of projects, streamlining of the workflow, and management of colonies.
