Occupational Health & Safety
The Centre has an OHS Manager whose responsibilities include implementation of the OHS Management System and archiving OHS documentation. Copies of all OHS documents, such as hazard and incident reports, risk assessments and safe operating procedures should be created within the University's SafeSys document management system.
Note that incident reports or urgent hazards should be reported to the area custodian (below) and registered using myUNSW. Other safety issues should be passed on to your facility's local representative on the Level 3 OHS Committee and they will appear in the Centre's corrective actions register.
Visitors Please Note:
- Before working in the Analytical Centre you must attend induction training for the specific area and equipment you are working with;
- All sample preparation laboratories in the Analytical Centre require safety glasses and lab coats;
- If you fail to attend induction or to wear appropriate protective clothing you will be asked to leave for your own safety.
