The Centre has an OHS Manager whose responsibilities include implementation of the OHS Management System and archiving OHS documentation. All original OHS documents, such as hazard and incident reports, risk assesssments and safe operating procedures should be held by the OHS Manager (54693, Room M64).

If you need to report immediate safety problems, or get access to an area in the Centre, please contact the area custodian (below). For any safety issues you can also contact your local representative on the Level 3 OHS Committee.

Visitors Please Note:

  • Before working in the Analytical Centre you must attend induction training for the specific area and equipment you are working with.
  • All sample preparation laboratories in the Analytical Centre require safety glasses and lab coats.
  • If you fail to attend induction or to wear appropriate protective clothing you will be asked to leave for your own safety.

In the event of a flood within Chemical Sciences (F10), a 70L wet vacuum is located in the cryogen store (B47) in the basement level. Contact the NMR staff if you need access to the cryostore.
