My Research Activities

My research is primarily focused on the design, fabrication, and characterization of oxide thin film functional materials (most notably multiferroics) which can be used in applications such as non-volatile memory elements, magnetic, spintronic, or optical devices and modulators. The research emphasis is on gaining a profound understanding of the physics at the nanoscale and then using this insight to tailor the functional response.

I have expertise in thin film oxide epitaxy (pulsed laser deposition), magnetic and optical characterization, and advanced thin film x-ray diffraction.
