Tumour tissue banks are vital for cancer research.
The UNSW Biorepository is a purpose-built, state of the art biorepository facility for the reception and processing of human biospecimens. The Biorepository contains biospecimens, including blood and tissue samples, taken with consent from both healthy individuals and patients diagnosed with cancer. Clinical information from the donors is also collected and linked to the specimens via a secure, web-accessible database.
The UNSW Biorepository aims to provide translational cancer researchers with high quality biospecimens and related clinical data, in order to facilitate discoveries that will lead to improvements in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
We are housed in the Lowy Cancer Research Centre, University of New South Wales, Australia.
