BD LSRFortessa™ SORP cell analyser

The BD LSRFortessa™ SORP analyzing flow cytometer is equipped with five excitation lasers (ultraviolet 355nm, violet 405nm, blue 488nm, yellow/green 561nm and red 642nm) and is able to detect up to 20 parameters (17 fluorescence channels, two forward scatter channels and one side scatter). This cytometer’s configuration has been designed to mirror that of our BD Influx, enabling users to easily transfer or work-up experiments.

A high throughput sampling (HTS) option allows users to analyse sample directly from a plate (12, 24, 96 and 384 wells). Included is a small particle detection option (SPO) and a high-powered 488nm laser (100mW) allowing users to resolve particles in the ranges of 0.2um – 1.0um.

Acquisition software is BD FACS™ Diva generating standard FCS3.0 files for third party software analysis packages.

Mr Chris Brownlee is the Flow Cytometry Scientist managing the Flow Cytometry facility at UNSW's Biological Resources Imaging Laboratory (BRIL).
