Workplace Health & Safety

Workplace Health & Safety

The MWAC Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) within the centre, which includes implementation of hazard reporting and document management systems. All safety documentation is currently stored on SafeSys, and hazards and incidents are reported using UNSW's Human Resources System through myUNSW.

WHS issues should be communicated to the area supervisor and/or the WHS Committee Representative for the workgroup for discussion at the MWAC Level 3 WHS Committee meeting.

Visitors Please Note:

  • Before working in an MWAC facility you must attend induction training for the specific area and equipment you are working with;
  • All sample preparation laboratories within MWAC require safety glasses and lab coats;
  • If you fail to adhere to local safety procedures then you will be asked to leave.
