Cell Culture Training Course

Learn about aseptic technique for successful cell culture; including thawing, passaging and freezing of cells for long term storage.

Courses will run in the first week of every month.

The course will run over 3 days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and will require attendance for 2 hours on each day.

There will be a maximum of 4 trainees per course.

Each of the three sessions will consist of a 30 lecture and a 30 minute demonstration, followed by time for each participant to carry out the task.

During the week you will receive hands-on training in the following:

  1. Introduction to aseptic tissue culture techniques for successful long-term tissue culture
  2. Thawing, passaging and freezing cells to retain stock solutions
  3. Counting and checking for viable cells
  4. Imaging cells and detecting contamination in the culture
